Sun City Peachtree Amateur Radio is offering a 7-week Technician Class license class beginning 6 April 2023. Sessions will be on Zoom, every Thursday, beginning at 6:30 pm EDT. Each class will last approximately 2 ¾ hours. Class size is limited to 20. License exams will be scheduled after course completion.

Before you can get on the air,  you need to be federally licensed and know the rules to operate legally. US licenses are valid for 10 years before renewal. Anyone may hold a license except a representative of a foreign government. There are three license classes in the US: Technician, General and Extra.

The Technician class license is the entry level license. Earning the Technician license requires passing one multiple-choice exam totaling 35 questions on radio theory, regulations and operating practices.
